Introduction

Protecting your visual content before sharing it online is essential for photographers, artists, e-commerce sellers, and anyone who publishes original images. An Image Watermark Tool lets you overlay text or a logo onto your photos and graphics, deterring unauthorized use and reinforcing your brand identity with every share. This tool provides both a text watermark mode with customizable font, color, opacity, and rotation, and a logo watermark mode where you can upload your own PNG or SVG brand mark, scale it, and position it precisely. You can drag the watermark interactively on a live preview or choose from preset positions, then batch-process multiple images in one click. Toolraxy provides a free, client-side watermark tool that keeps your images private by performing all processing directly in your browser.

How to Use the Image Watermark Tool

  1. Select your watermark type using the tabs: Text Watermark or Logo Watermark.

  2. For text, enter your watermark text, adjust font size, color, opacity, and rotation. For a logo, upload your brand image and adjust its scale and opacity.

  3. Choose a preset position from the dropdown, or select “Custom” to drag the watermark freely on the preview.

  4. Upload one or more images by clicking the upload area or dragging and dropping files. The first image appears in the live preview.

  5. If using custom position, click and drag the watermark on the preview canvas to place it exactly where you want it.

  6. The tool processes all images automatically. View and download each watermarked image individually, or click Download All to save everything at once.

How the Tool Works

This Image Watermark Tool performs all rendering using the HTML5 Canvas API. No images are uploaded to any server. No external libraries are required.

Two Watermark Modes:

Text Watermark Mode:

  1. The watermark text is rendered using the browser’s native text rendering at the specified font size, color, and opacity. The font is set to bold Segoe UI with Arial fallback.

  2. Rotation is applied around the center of the text, with values from -180 to 180 degrees converted to radians.

  3. For preset positions, the text is placed at the center, corners, or other locations with a 20-pixel padding margin. For tile mode, the text is repeated across the entire image in a grid pattern.

  4. For custom position, the text center is placed at coordinates determined by dragging on the preview. The position is stored as a fraction of image dimensions (0–1 range) so it scales correctly for images of any size.

Logo Watermark Mode:

  1. The uploaded logo image is loaded and stored as an HTML Image element. PNG files with transparency are recommended for best results.

  2. The logo scale is calculated as a fraction of the source image width. A scale of 0.2 means the logo will be 20% as wide as the image it is applied to. Height scales proportionally to maintain the logo’s aspect ratio.

  3. Opacity is applied via the canvas globalAlpha property.

  4. Positioning follows the same preset or custom logic as text watermarks. The logo is constrained to remain fully within the image boundaries.

Batch Processing:

  1. Each source image is loaded and drawn onto an off-screen canvas at its native resolution.

  2. The watermark (text or logo) is rendered on top according to all current settings.

  3. The final composite is exported as a PNG blob. PNG is used as the output format to preserve quality regardless of the source format.

  4. Results are displayed as downloadable file cards.

All processing respects the 25 MB per-file size limit. Oversized files are skipped with an alert. The live preview updates immediately when any setting changes.

Worked Example

A photographer wants to watermark 20 wedding photos with her studio logo before sharing proofs on social media. Here is the workflow:

  1. She switches to the Logo Watermark tab and uploads her studio’s PNG logo file.

  2. She sets the logo scale to 0.15 (15% of image width) and opacity to 0.6 for a subtle, professional look.

  3. She selects “Bottom Right” from the preset position dropdown. The live preview on the first uploaded photo shows the logo placed neatly in the corner.

  4. She uploads all 20 JPEG photos by dragging them onto the upload area.

  5. The tool processes each image, applying the logo watermark at the same relative size and position to every photo, regardless of each image’s dimensions.

  6. She clicks Download All. Twenty watermarked PNG files save to her device, each with her studio logo visibly but unobtrusively placed, ready for social media sharing.

The entire process takes under a minute. No images were uploaded to any server, preserving client privacy and image rights.

FAQs

Is this image watermark tool free?
Yes. The tool is completely free. There is no paywall, no registration, and no limit on the number of images you can watermark.

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

What image formats can I watermark?
The tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP images. The output is always in PNG format to preserve quality.

What is the maximum file size per image?
The tool accepts images up to 25 MB each. Files larger than this are skipped.

Can I use my own logo as a watermark?
Yes. Switch to the Logo Watermark tab and upload your logo in PNG, JPEG, or SVG format. PNG with transparency is recommended for best results.

How do I position the watermark exactly where I want it?
Select “Custom” from the position dropdown, then click and drag the watermark directly on the preview canvas. The position is stored as a percentage of the image dimensions.

What is the tile mode in text watermark?
Tile mode repeats the text watermark across the entire image in a grid pattern, providing the strongest protection against cropping and removal.

Can I watermark multiple images at once?
Yes. Upload multiple images simultaneously, and the tool will process all of them with the same watermark settings.

Does watermarking change the original image dimensions?
No. The output image has the same pixel dimensions as the source image.

Can I share the watermark tool with someone?
Yes. Use the Share button to copy a link to the tool, or send the URL directly.
