How to Use the HEART Score Calculator

How the HEART Score Calculator Formula Works

The HEART Score is an additive point system. Each of the five components contributes 0, 1, or 2 points, yielding a total between 0 and 10.

Formula:
HEART Score = History + ECG + Age + Risk Factors + Troponin

 

Scoring details:

  • History: Slightly suspicious = 0; Moderately suspicious = 1; Highly suspicious = 2.

  • ECG: Normal = 0; Non-specific repolarization changes = 1; Significant ST deviation = 2.

  • Age: <45 = 0; 45–64 = 1; ≥65 = 2.

  • Risk Factors: None = 0; 1–2 = 1; ≥3 or atherosclerotic disease = 2.

  • Troponin: Normal = 0; 1–3× normal limit = 1; >3× normal limit = 2.
