About Image Pixelator

Image Pixelator is a free online tool that allows you to easily pixelate any image. Whether you want to blur sensitive information, create retro-style pixel art, or simply experiment with visual effects, this tool provides a simple, intuitive interface to pixelate specific areas or entire images.

Developed as a lightweight web application, it works entirely in your browser with no software installation required. Just upload your image, select the area you want to pixelate, adjust the settings, and download your modified image in various formats.

How to Use

Step 1: Upload Your Image
  • Click the “Browse for Image” button or drag and drop an image file directly onto the upload area

  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and other common image formats

  • The image will appear in the canvas area once uploaded

Step 2: Select Pixelation Area

You have three ways to select the area to pixelate:

Option A: Click and Drag Selection

  1. Click the “Select Area (Click & Drag)” button

  2. Click and drag directly on the image to create a selection rectangle

  3. The blue rectangle shows the area that will be pixelated

Option B: Move Existing Selection

  1. Click the “Move Selected Area” button

  2. Click and drag the blue selection rectangle to reposition it

  3. Useful for fine-tuning the pixelation area

Option C: Manual Coordinates

  1. Enter specific coordinates in the input boxes:

    • X position: Horizontal starting point (0 = left edge)

    • Y position: Vertical starting point (0 = top edge)

    • Rect width: Width of pixelation area

    • Rect height: Height of pixelation area

Option D: Clear Selection

  • Click “Clear Selection” to pixelate the entire image

Step 3: Adjust Pixelation Strength
  • Use the slider or enter a value from 1-30

  • Lower values (1-5) = subtle pixelation

  • Higher values (10-30) = more obvious pixelation/blur

  • The number represents the pixel block size

Step 4: Download Your Image
  1. Select your preferred format: PNG, JPEG, or WebP

FAQs

Is Image Pixelator free to use?

Yes, completely free with no hidden costs, watermarks, or usage limits.

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

You can upload JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WebP, and most other common image formats. Download options include PNG, JPEG, and WebP.

The limit depends on your device’s memory, but generally works well with images up to 10-15MB. Larger images may load slower.

The strength value determines the size of pixel blocks. Strength 1 creates very small pixels (subtle effect), while strength 30 creates large blocks (more obvious pixelation).
