For a rectangular house with 4 corners and 3m walls: 4 × 3 = 12 meters of corner post. Future versions may include corner posts.

How do I measure wall height for gable ends?

For triangular gable ends, use the peak height at the center and the width at the base. The calculator’s “Height” input should be the average height = peak height ÷ 2. For a gable with 5m peak and 8m width, enter height = 2.5m, width = 8m. This approximates the triangle area. For precise gable siding, calculate separately or increase waste factor to 15%.

Why does the calculator show starter strip length equal to wall width?

The starter strip attaches along the entire bottom of the wall, providing the nailing surface for the first siding course. It runs the full horizontal length of the wall. For a 10m wide wall, you need 10m of starter strip—no more, no less. If your siding installation starts above grade (e.g., above a foundation), you still need starter strip at the actual siding starting point.
